The night before it has become tradition to kick things off with a 4-course Beer Dinner, offering German fare complimented with craft beer pairings. On October 14, 2016 we are very excited to host the event at freight house, with the amazing Chef Sara Bradley curating our menu. Beer from Dry Ground Brewing Company and Mile Wide Beer Company will compliment each course in the most delightful way.

The Bavarian-themed food spread has always been provided by the wonderful gang at Kirchhoff’s Bakery and we wouldn't change a thing.
As not only a community staple, but also a business that has a rich history in Paducah, they take great pride in every item they make and they don’t mess around where sausage is concerned. Not only are there a variety of sausage choices, there are also pretzels, a variety of cheeses, German potato salad, strudel and more. Beef tongue has been known to make an appearance as well as blood sausage.
In 2016 we were very excited to welcome back Dry Ground Brewing Company (Paducah, KY), Paducah Beer Werks (Paducah, KY), West Sixth (Lexington, KY) and Tin Man (Evansville, IN) who started the journey with us in 2014. Some new additions to our craft beer list in 2016 were Country Boy (Lexington, KY), Mile Wide Beer Co. (Louisville, KY), Bell's Brewery (Kalamazoo, MI), Scratch Brewing Company (Ava, IL), Blue Stallion (Lexington, KY), Rhinegeist (Cincinnati, OH) and Dogfish Head (Milton, DE). This day is about celebrating the delicious flavors of craft beer, giving attendees a wide variety of styles from which to choose.
We always have representatives from each brewery at Maiden Alley Oktoberfest, giving attendees the opportunity to meet the people behind the beer. They are also invited to create a special brew specifically for the event as well as work together on collaboration beers!
To keep our event top notch we will always invite a variety of local and regional breweries. From time to time we will most likely go beyond the definition of regional, but we commit to always bring you a great variety of beer options. We also want to celebrate the beauty of supporting other local businesses as much as we can. As a non-profit organization we rely on buy-in from our patrons and appreciate them on a level that goes beyond simply money in our pockets.
From working with amazing brewery reps to the wonderful distributors of Heidleberg, Clark, Golden Eagle and Beer House, it our pleasure to build those relationships for future success.
We can't talk about food without mentioning our traditional Oktoberfest Beer Dinner that kicks off the weekend of fun! Every year we do it a bit differently and invite area culinary masters to curate a German inspired menu. This year we are very excited to host the Oktoberfest Beer Dinner at Freight House, with Chef Sara Bradley creating a four-course meal. Beer pairings will be provided by our friends at Dry Ground Brewing Company and Mile Wide Beer Company (Louisville, KY). Enjoy some images from the 2016 Oktoberfest Beer Dinner.
NEW THIS YEAR we are adding the Roof Brothers VIP Tasting Lounge that will offer up premiere tastings of specially tapped unique brews. They will be tapped throughout the day AND you receive an additional commemorative tasting glass in addition to your stein!!!
